Today, April 20, at 7 pm London, 2 pm NYC, 11 am San Francisco, 9 pm Moscow, I will be talking about "The Habits of Rome." The first part of the lecture will be about the Roman calendar and its influence on our life (we're still using it). Its second part will be about Roman food. Its third part will be about the way Romans used to consume their food: when and especially *how* they ate. I am the author of the historical guidebook "Here Was Rome"; its original Russian edition had won the country's most prestigious nonfiction award in 2013; in 2017 the English version was published in the UK. Here's the Zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/92795877759 ATTENTION. Just before the lecture begins, I will post a YouTube link in the comments as well. The lecture is free; a donation is welcome but by no means necessary for anything. Please note that at the moment only the Yandex option seems to be working properly; the blasted PayPal is checking something as it always does; how to pay from outside to a Skrill account (if it's at all possible) I could not work out at all.
